Mongolian Camel Day Dazzles London

Fashion shows, a camel milk tasting and wares from the Gobi Desert lured Londoners to Hyde Park

A Mongolian delegation held the first Mongolian Camel Day celebration in London Saturday May 31, to showcase their products and cultural heritage at St. Johns’ Church, Hyde Park. From a camel milk tasting of Camwell Camel Milk, cashmere and camel wool fashion shows with Mongolian and British models, and camel ghee lip gloss testing, the day, featuring throat singing, horsehead fiddle-playing and Mongolian cuisine, was heartily enjoyed by Londoners. The event, supported by the Embassy of Mongolia in the UK, featured remarks by Zorigtbat Tseveenjav, Counsellor of Trade and Economic Affairs. The delegation will be in town for the week of Jun 2-5 and is open to new business discussions.  

The event was conceived by the Silk Road Camel NGO of Mongolia and supported by Gobi Province Governor Nasanbuyn Enkhbat to develop business ties between the Gobi region and the UK. Mongolian companies in attendance include Solid Partners LLC, which produces camel milk and products, in partnership with Nomad Ventures, which offers lectures and media storytelling of by CEO and noted camel milk authority Christina Adams; Galbin Gobi, producer of eco-friendly camel wool garments and souvenir camels, well-known cashmere brand Khan Bogd, Zoson camel wool fashions, camel ghee cosmetics company Zadatiin Khishig, and more environmentally responsible products from Mongolia’s Gobi Desert.
